What is fashion for you?
Fashion is the veneration of appearances as the most sincere form of communication. Clothes make people and people decide (even unintentionally) to tell something about themselves by dressing in one garment rather than another. Fashion accompanies every day and very often manipulates and determines it. Fashion is the cult of appearance, and appearance only deceives the inattentive eye.
When and why did you start your brand?
I founded Mundane in 2019 because I was fascinated by the style of Jacopo. What I wanted to do was create with him an exclusive collection for the American market. He works in an unusual and impetuous way: from the exploring for the rarest and most valuable materials to his grinding, patchwork, embroidery. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable. I like to see a garment as a wearable work of art, and his style is what I was looking for. From there, I thought the next step would be to create a space for all the atypical and out-of-line designers around the world.
Where do you get inspiration when you create?
Each of our artists draws inspiration from their own life and daily life. The fact that our garments are made between Pescara, Nashville, Paris inevitably dips our pieces of different and sometimes even contrasting emotions. Our garments break the barriers and create something unique, durable, and high-quality.
How would you describe the collection you are presenting to White?
This selection of garments is for those who want a lifestyle without filters and exuberant. People who wear our garments communicate to those who look at them a sense of freedom and ease. Those who dress Mundane steal the scene and make it their own, as well as for their destiny.
Future projects?
We are working on a line as a child and adding new designers and artists to our creative 'gang' for so many captivating projects.
