Monica, a product woman, all-round creative, Riccardo him more image and public relations
How was the project born?
Riccardo: "First we started with a creative direction agency and a year and a half later the "wardrobe" has arrived. Monica and I exchange jackets, especially in Tokyo we buy outerwear together that we use a little by one. The idea was to create a collection for him and her, without distinction "
Monica: "We started with knitwear because I met production companies that impressed me not only for the products but for the humanity behind them. These realities that always remain a bit in the shade but are in truth the heart of Made in Italy. Knowing one in particular, we thought we would like to start from them by doing something of our own. The product comes later for us: first we fall in love with people and then we decide what to do with them"
How do you still wonder about an item of clothing?
“I still marvel through touch. I am thrilled by the beauty of the material and its mysterious side. In terms of knitwear, I find it absolutely surprising how you can start from a thread or get so many different results, also given by the sensitivity and taste of those who work it ".
We therefore return to the theme of this edition. Is advanced craftsmanship a wonder?
"Yes, when we started making handmade sweaters, people were amazed. But we work with an excellent reality that works with very prestigious fashion houses such as Dior or Valentino. Craftsmanship can absolutely become a business even if we are fans of the unique piece. The unique piece has the signature of the person who makes it ".
Will you add product categories?
"Yes, ours wants to be an open wardrobe. In addition to the knitwear and technical outerwear that we want to carry out, new elements can be added. Wundercamera was born as a free project, so if next summer we want to collaborate with a production reality we are also interested in telling the story, maybe there will be shirts next to the shirts".
Should sustainability always be communicated?
“For us we need to talk about it as much as possible, questioning everything. Even if it is very difficult, because being fully responsible is a really long journey".
