FABBRICATORINO INTERVIEW

"Bringing together the Italian artisan tradition with the digital transformation." That is the mission of Fabbricatorino. The brand, taken over by the entrepreneur Alessandro Monticone, aims at sustainability, design, high-quality materials, and determination.

What is fashion for you?

"It is like a burning flame, fueled by the passion of those who live it. It moves fast, takes a thousand different forms. In a mystical continuity, fashion leaves the observer intoxicated by his sinuous dance that captures his gaze and conquers his heart—a perennial pursuit of perfection."

When and why did you take over the brand?

"I took over Fabbricatorino in 2017, a historic brand of my hometown, Turin. I met the brand as a consultant, and after a few months, I completely fell in love with it. The charm of its history and the deep-rooted craftsmanship of its products are a perfect synthesis of that priceless value commonly called Made In Italy. My mission is to protect this tradition through innovation and eco-sustainability by making Fabbricatorino an artisan eyewear brand, internationally recognized as the maximum synthesis of these three key elements."

Where do you get inspiration when you create?

"At the base of my creative inspiration is contamination. It is the world around us, what we live daily that inspires us, and it is the spirit of observation that makes us grasp that particular detail and see it declined on the objects we create. The colors of nature, the lines of architecture, the same error in cutting a threaded bar was the inspiration for a psychedelic texture and milling unusual for the eyewear world."

How would you describe the collection you're going to present to White?

"We will present the FACTORY P/E collection and the FT-LAB limited series capsule made with talented young designers Giuseppe Buccinnà and Salvatore Vignola. This collection aims to be that of exaptation, pre-adaptation, that extraordinary ability of complex systems to play in advance, combining innovative resources or features already present to ensure competitive advantages, which ends the period dedicated to resilience to return to the attack."

Future projects?

"The future projects are to consolidate the Italian market and continue the internationalization process on new markets. Continue the expansion of retail with single-brand stores present today in Turin and Rome. Expand the FT-LAB collection by increasing stylist SKU and welcoming new talented young designers into this sharing and contamination project. Finally, we are working on a new product line, FT-ECO made entirely with recycled plastics in a circular economy that has the ambition to be an eco-product and assume an educational function to its virtuous behavior customers."
