TEESHARE INTERVIEW

How was your project born?

"I worked for many years in consulting firms, mainly in women's denim and sportswear collections in Italy and in Spain.I have firsthand experience of the migration of production processes from Italy to China, India, and Turkey in a race to lower production costs for the sole purpose of maximizing profit. While working as a consultant in Spain, I had the opportunity of working extensively with a local brand. It was during that time that I started thinking about making something of my own, combining my personal and professional experiences, and shining a light to show others the increasingly distorted mechanisms of fast fashion. I self-financed the project and, in January 2013, I launched teeshare, combining conscious fashion and art."

The values of your brand

"teeshare it’s based on the concept of sharing. Sharing is more than a good intention it’s actually our fundamental trait. Among the objectives, production transparency, that recognises and understands the value of the people involved in the project. I believe that feeling good in your own skin nowadays is a challenge: sustainable fashion and art are our key to celebrate people and the environment."

Your idea of responsible fashion

"For teeshare I have integrated and refined some key steps within my production capacity to make collections more and more sustainable. I use materials with a low environmental impact such as GOTS certified organic cotton, deadstock and recycled materials.Conscious fashion is a process, it starts with reflections and actions devoted to sharing, researching and shaping the future. For this reason in 2018 co-founded rén collective, a cultural movement that inspires, informs and promotes sustainability, raising the collective awareness on the topic and encouraging its diffusion through every single person involved."

Art and craftsmanship in your collections

"teeshare is far from the idea of mass production. I looked for workshops that would pass the quality control with flying colours to make teeshare collections, including the limited editions and the customised garments for my customers with special requests. We create original products, they are handcrafted in local workshops, where artisans personalize each piece one by one. Exclusive models enriched with hand embroidery, screen prints, drawings, trinkets, poems and illustrations."

Goals you are proud of and new projects on the horizon

"My greatest achievement in work is every time when people let me know that the project, the fabric or the fitting and design which I created has had a positive influence on them, somehow. That’s one of the most rewarding experiences. Currently haven't plans is the plan."
