Szade, the Australian brand of recyclable and sustainable sunglasses

by Angelo Ruggeri

After two years of research and development, design, and innovative concepts, the Szade team has created its revolutionary recycling process unlike any other in the world: sunglasses made with recycled sunglasses.

"We are committed to creating a product that gives our community a choice," explain the founders of Szade. "The power to choose to buy and wear products that are better for the planet and with which everyone can feel good wearing them, both physically and consciously".

Szade sunglasses effectively form a closed-loop as each pair is not only created using broken, discarded, and obsolete sunglasses that were destined for landfill, but are also recyclable. In this way what has been created is more than a product; it is the pinnacle of advanced recycling technology and visionary design. The goal is to break the waste cycle present in the fashion industry and during this process reduce material waste to almost zero.

Intending to use sustainable materials and methods, the brand has developed an expertise that has led to the creation of sunglasses that respect the environment without neglecting the avant-garde design of the product. The team worked tirelessly to ensure that the final product was of the highest quality, on par with premium eyewear brands. Every detail has been carefully studied and each sunglasses is assembled and finished by hand.

"From the start, we wanted to disrupt the market and close the gap for consumers," continue the founders. "This has been the sweet spot for us in terms of cost, especially to ensure that we are creating an affordable product that anyone can afford and feel free to take to buy."

Certified by the global authority on sustainable goods, Szade has been verified and accredited with the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) on its material supply chain and product composition.

The collection is described as an updated and modern take on the classics, with some distinctive Szade styles defining the brand's aesthetic. It is also inspired by the brand's vision of the world, providing trendy colors and silhouettes inspired by high fashion. With a range of sizes and fits for every face, Szade worked hard to ensure that all of its sunglasses were universal and suitable for everyone. Designed and developed from the ground up, the range of models, finishes, and tortoiseshell is unique to the brand and cannot be found anywhere else.
